Unpublished Articles
Before I was published I wrote a number of articles on true crime, which I included on my website. Over the years, some of these have been revised and published.
My article on the Lucan case now appears under the title 'Blood in the Basement' in
'The Mammoth Book of CSI' edited by Roger Wilkes, published by Robinson in London
and a US edition by Carroll and Graf, New York
'How to get away with Murder' is now included in
'Getting Away With It' edited by Steve Shipside (The Infinite ideas Company 2006)
I am currently in the process of revising my article about 10 Rillington Place for inclusion in my forthcoming book, the Big Book of Greater London Murder.
I have withdrawn my review of Jack The Ripper - Revealed by John Wilding, at the author's request. I continue to hold my original opinions but I have no wish to upset anyone.
I have also withdrawn the article on the 1993 Jack the Ripper Diary, written at the time when its provenence was a hot controversy. It is nowadays generally accepted to have been a hoax.
In 'Last Seen with the Deceased' I compared and contrasted two crimes, the Green Bicycle case of 1919 and the murder of Lynne Harper in 1959. In view of the fact that in the latter case Steven Truscott has been cleared of the crime I consider it is no longer appropriate to publish the article in its original form.
I have updated and republished on this site the following unpublished articles.
