17th to 20th Harrogate for the Theakstons Crime-writing festival. Had a wonderful time, very inspirational.
August:
17th to 25th Quite an adventure - I was in Edinburgh for the Festival, helping out at Paradise Green Promotions. I started out wondering what I had let myself in for and by the end I was hoping I could make it again next year. here's hoping.
September:
2nd Gave a talk on Classic Crimes of Victorian Essex at the Tendring Group Activity day. a very welcoming group, and I had a wonderful time.
22nd. The Jack the Ripper exhibition at the museum of Docklands. Superbly put together - I especially liked the way it addressed many aspects of life at that time. The museum itself is also fascinating and well worth a visit.
October:
6th Attended the AGM of the Society of Authors.
8th Attended a fascinating talk on the Princess Alice disaster of 1878 at the Metropolitan Police Histrory Society.
9th Gave a talk on Essex Murders at Harold Hill Community Centre to the WI. Had a sore throat at the time and the voice almost gave out but not quite. Everyone was very understanding and was very quiet so I could speak softly through the talk!
29th: Enjoyed a walking tour of old Whitechapel arranged through the Victoria and Albert Museum
November:
Notorious Blasted Rascal will be out this month.
7th. Attended a really interesting talk on the life of the Victorian policeman at the Metropolitan Police History Society.
